Life....

~~The carnival at church was SOOOOOO much fun!! I worked a game booth all by myself and it was just so fun to interact with the children and try and make each one feel special.

~~I couldn't walk by the end of the night. Not just my entire body, but especially the injured ligament in my leg. I wanted to cry (but didn't)

~~I haven't cried in 3 DAYS!!!! Went ALL weekend without a breakdown of any kind whatsoever.

~~I spent alot of time in the kitchen on Sunday. I baked Snickerdoodles and sugar cookies and made a nice chicken dinner. I also made dinner last night and am again tonight. Don't get me wrong, I was feeding my children, just not really cooking. It has been MONTHS since I've spent a Sunday in the kitchen. The thing that got me through was remembering I was doing it because I LIKED it, not because I was trying to make someone like me, not because I needed validation from someone else.

~~We got a new phone system at work. I like it but it sure was a hassle changing it all.

~~ My printer at work died yesterday and I went out and got a new one and hooked it up ALL BY MYSELF!!

~~ I start going to my home Bible study this Friday. I am excited!!

~~God is amazing! He is allowing me to feel such freedom and relief lately.

  1. those carnivals are fun to work at, and just for the reason you said, Diane; fun to interact with everyone, especially the little ones when they are dressed up. I'm with you, though, usually at the end of the time I can't walk or bend; last one we did we were picking up bean bags after they got tossed into a wooden pumpkin with holes. I was sooo sore! good for you for volunteering though and for spending time cooking; all sounds good!

glad you are venturing out and doing some neat things too like hooking up a printer! that's something I don't know if I could do

enjoy the Bible study; always great to get into God's Word :)

  3. God is truly amazing. I need to spend time each day reflecting on God's goodness.

Our church carnival/fair is coming up soon. It is always a big success. I don't volunteer, but I do spend some money there. :)

    God bless,

  4. I already like you. So next time you feel like baking just knock yourself out and send the finished product my way! ;o)

Awesome that enjoyed the carnival. I LOVE working with kids. Can't explain it - I just enjoy it!

The home Bible studies have always been my personal favorites. Hope it's wonderful for you...

  5. Wow Diane great post, you sound so at peace. Doing things like the carnival are a great way to get us out of ourselves, give back to others and have a lot of fun. Not crying tells me you are starting to accept the suffering and trust God, that the healing process is starting, at least I hope that this is what it means.

Thanks for shining a new light on cooking. I love to cook but have never been in a relationship where cooking was an unhealthy activity. I am going to spend a few days with my daughter and Angel, granddaughter, I will do the cooking for them. My daughter likes her old man's cooking and I spoil Angel so in a way I am doing this to please them but there are no expectations on it, it is just part of our relationship. I hope you find this kind of freedom and relationship building with your cooking. There is something special when our kids start to enjoy certain things we cook and a unique bond is developed over a dish that only their parent can make just right.

God is doing wonders for you!!! Enjoy your Bible study.

  6. Snickerdoodles? Is that with a Snickers bar?

I have always loved carnivals and theme parks. Love them rollercoasters. Not the ones that go loopy loop. The old fashion ones.

Thanks for sharing your special day dear one. Blessings.
